In today's world, we see how technology has a big impact on many industries and trust that the textile industry is one of them. Occurring themes in the spirit of our times is artificial intelligence, augmented reality and high technology. These themes have easily been manipulated to fit into the textile industry and is how we have come up with fashion technology.

Technology has provided new ways of interacting with brands through the power of social media and live streamings. This is an avenue for consumers to have fast access and engage instantly with these brands and to be fair, is what we are hungry for. Furthermore, in the past, where designers would use marker pens to create designs, today, technology has provided us with faster ways to produce designs with the aid of a computer which is appreciated for the boost of productivity.

Technological innovations have given us different means by which we can share clothes we no longer need by reselling. Now, the question that would typically follow this idea in the past age, would be how to share these clothing items to the select audience. Today, we have buying and selling apps such as Depop, Grailed, Poshmark, GOAT and Ebay. These apps are set up to inspire a more sustainable way of being fashionable. Versus throwing clothes you don't fancy anymore out, you are actually gaining some profit and refurbishing the next person's wardrobe.

"We are in search of new ways to wear the internet"

Fashion has no limits and we are in a time were we have brands that solely specialize in the production of wearable technologies. A good example is a London based brand, Studio XO. This brands feeds the generation Z kids who are obsessed with everything the internet has to offer and more (gaming, music, fashion, social media). This to me is so next level and will set the pace for other brands to follow in a matter of time. Moving on from this valuable innovation, we also have online shopping.

Online shopping has made life incredibly easier for consumers as this is a 24/7 outlet that is just as satisfactory as going into a store, if not more. Some retail stores are even more ahead of the game by having technology designed to be able to scan SKU numbers on the tags of certain items they see in store they like, and in a matter of seconds, on the online website, these items pop up and tell you other locations they have the select items. Often times, they would provide similar listings. A prominent example of a store that has this technological advantage is H&M. Lastly, technological innovations has helped break physical barriers, where one doesn't have to be present in the launch of a collection of a brand. Through live shoots, a wide range of buyers and bloggers are still able to view these looks and invest in them.
